Full Version: Software crash when loading approach plate

The unit is now 100% worthless, and has now been this way for TWO updates. I updated the unit to 2.7.1, and all worked well until I downloaded the previous chart update. Then, the software would crash when I attempted to load ANY approach plate. I set the unit aside (still to buggy to even THINK about bringing on a flight as a back-up) and waited for the next update CD to come from myAirplane. When it arrived, I assumed the problem would go away, but I was wrong. The software STILL crashes when I attempt to load an approach plate (and by crashes, I mean it quits altogether, as if you had pressed the 'Docs' button). The same thing happens if you try to load an airport diagram, SID, STAR, etc.

The unit has now become the laughing stock of the hangar, and I am regretting even buying one of these. mad.gif Someone please help...

Rick,
What version of the eFlyBook software are you running? there should be a version number at the top of the application, we are currently at 1.0.9. I must admit this is the first time I have heard of the software crashing on the load of a chart excluding the enroutes which I am aware of, could you IM me with your telephone number and I will gladly have a support person contact you tomorrow morning when we open for business.

Thank you,
Johan Van Zijl

I have loaded all updates and on the title page my unit still says 1.08b . Is this current? Have I missed some updates or not done things correctly?

Rob,
Apologies we had a really bad month by the looks of it, the software is actually a later version but we use an image generated from source for the header which seemed somehow to have resulted in the old image being shipped. I apologize. huh.gif

several days ago I up dated my sd card . When I went to load the program nothing happened.

I then went to look at the card and its all giberish on some of the directories. Even though all the directories are there

I then tried to reformat the card and I am unable.

When I try to delete the directories it would not let me.

I did a new image to the card and again it says it went through ok but still the same giberish

I got thing to work by deleting the 613 update in the eflybookupddate directory. Then reupdating the thru a forced update in the updater program. then I reimage the SD card .

Last night a new update came still 613 is this the same as dec 19 versiondays ago? any one load this is it safe.

Am i the only person with issues on this update?
any responce to these issues?

ma.com had sent an email saying that the initial 613 distribution was wrong. They sent out an updated one that has "Critical Update Disk Cycle 0613a" in red on the right hand side. I never loaded the initial one but have now loaded the updated one. Everything seems to work just fine.

Your forced update should have downloaded the newer release so there is no need for you to load the image that comes on the CD. You probably do want to install it on your PC so that you have new charts there too.

My only complaint is that the version of the viewer that is on the update CD seems to be 1.08b even though 1.09b has been out for a while. Fortunately, I have been through that before and made a copy of the newer viewer before loading the update.
